Dr. Marc Weintraub is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. His research interests involve the course, risk factors, and psychosocial treatment of mood and psychotic disorders. His recent research has focused on methods to improve the efficacy of psychosocial treatments for mood and psychotic disorders. Dr. Weintraub developed a multi-family cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for adolescents at high risk for mood and psychotic disorders, and received a career development award from the National Institute of Health to examine how a mobile app can improve the acceptability and adherence to the treatment. With funding from BBRF, Dr. Weintraub’s team is studying CBT as an adjunct for psilocybin treatment to treat major depressive disorder in adults.
