Dr. Morel received her BA in Integrated Biology from the University of Orleans and her PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie (Sorbonne University) in Paris. Her research focused on identifying potent pharmacological targets for drugs of abuse and psychiatric disorders. She then joined the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she led and managed projects exploring and targeting the molecular and cellular underpinnings of mood disorders and neurodegenerative brain diseases. In addition to her research, Dr. Morel has regularly been involved in several public health and science education outreach projects and is actively engaging in mentorship programs to cultivate the next generation of scientists.
