Dr. March’s life’s work is dedicated to determining how best to treat young people with a range of serious mental illnesses, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety and depression. Dr. March has been part of a group of people who have essentially built the current interventions evidence base over the last 20 years. He led and/or contributed to many large-scale, multiyear randomized clinical trials—such as MTA (Multimodal Treatment of ADHD), POTS (Pediatric OCD Treatment Study), CAMS (Child/Adolescent Anxiety Multimodal Study) and TADS (Treatment for Adolescents with Depression Study)—that constitute a body of hard evidence showing the impact of different treatments and treatment combinations upon young people.

Dr. March received two B.A. degrees from the University of California, Riverside; an M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley; and an M.D. and M.P.H. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
