Dr. Drevets is an accomplished researcher and internationally recognized for his work in neuroimaging in psychiatry as well as the functional neuroanatomical correlates of the normal and diseased brain. He has contributed over 130 publications in this area, many of which have provided substantial increases in the understanding of the neural basis of brain function in patients and the neurobiological heterogeneity of mental disorders. Dr. Drevets has also been an innovator pioneer in the psychiatry field where he has led efforts to explore novel therapies and diagnostic approaches in depression and other mood disorders.

Dr. Drevets has served on the faculties of Washington University, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He was also Chief of the Section of Neuroimaging in Mood and Anxiety Disorders at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
