Parenting
One of the saddest aspects of mental illness is that it often strikes people at a very young age. Psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and chemical dependence all begin to surface in adolescence and young adulthood. The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation strives to provide helpful information and insights to those parents and family members who may be caring for children with mental illnesses. Beginning in 2015, the Foundation began including in its magazine information that can be of practical use to families coping with the diagnosis of a behavioral disorder or mental illness.
