The Most Avant-Garde Bipolar Disorder Researcher Found in Denmark … the NARSAD Outstanding Achievement in Mood Disorder Research Awarded to Dr. Lars Kessing
Lars Vedel Kessing, M.D., D.M.Sc. received this prestigious award on October 29, 2010 at the NARSAD ‘Discovery to Recovery’ Awards Dinner in New York City. Dr. Kessing came to the annual event from Denmark, where he and his team of researchers strive to find answers to questions about the onset, treatment and lifetime course of mood disorders. He studies the impact of other illnesses, age and gender, genetic predisposition, and the efficacy of currently prescribed medications in patients with mood disorders, and particularly bipolar disorder. He says that his patients serve as inspiration and drive his desire to better understand and treat these debilitating illnesses.
