Nobel Prizewinning Scientific Council Member Shows that Nicotine Makes Brain Vulnerable to Cocaine Addiction

Scientific Council Member Eric R. Kandel, M.D., and colleagues at Columbia University Medical Center were recently published in Science Translational Medicine for their studies on nicotine and addiction. With the use of novel mouse models, the scientists discovered specific changes in the brain caused by nicotine use that make it more vulnerable to cocaine addiction.
