And the 2010 Lieber Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Schizophrenia Research Goes to…

NARSAD once again recognizes a world-class leader in research in support of the organization’s mission and commitment to alleviate the suffering of mental illness. Dr. Tsuang is widely recognized for his groundbreaking work in the field of schizophrenia research. Dr. Tsuang, not only in his own work but in the work of numerous other scientists influenced and mentored by him, is working toward enabling early intervention, aiming toward prevention of this often devastating illness.

The Lieber Prize is given annually to recognize and award extraordinary leadership in schizophrenia research and has become widely recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the psychiatric field. Prize winners are recognized for their breakthrough work and serve as models of accomplishment for younger scientists involved in brain and behavior research The prize was awarded at the National ‘Discovery to Recovery’ Awards Dinner in New York City on October 29, 2010.
