"Healthy Minds" TV Series
Third Season Showing Throughout U.S. in 2013

The third season of the award-winning public television series “Healthy Minds” launches on more than a dozen stations across the country in January/February 2013. The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is a proud supporter of the program, which is hosted by Foundation President & CEO Jeffrey Borenstein, M.D. This year “Healthy Minds” continues to feature the crucial mental health topics of our time through in-depth interviews with the foremost experts on brain science and the prominent voices in mental health advocacy. Among the season’s guests are Nobel Prize winner Eric Kandel, M.D., former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen (U.S. Navy Retired) and journalist Rita Cosby. The roster of experts is highlighted by leaders affiliated with the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, including: Scientific Council members Alan Shatzberg, M.D., Jeffrey Lieberman, M.D., Herbert Pardes, M.D. (Council Pres.), and Eric Kandel, M.D.; NARSAD Grantee Evelyn Attia, M.D.; Productive Lives Award Winners Alice Medalia, Ph.D. and the Hon. Steve Leifman; President Emerita Connie Lieber; and Board Chair Steve Lieber.
Program topics for 2013 range from breakthrough treatments for eating disorders to the latest in mental health recovery in our criminal justice system. A special three-show mini-series will delve into treatment for military members and their families who are working to overcome Post-Traumatic Stress. The thirteen-show season of “Healthy Minds” is produced by WLIW21 for WNET New York Public Media. WLIW premiered the season’s first episode on January 2, 2013.
