Information Helpdesk:
The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Resource Specialist is available to answer frequently asked questions about psychiatric illnesses, support groups, local mental health organizations, and to provide educational materials on request. This service is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. At other times, callers may leave their name and telephone number with a description of the type of information requested. The resource specialist, Laura Terio, LCSW, will contact you within 2 business days, or you can e-mail her directly at lterio@bbrfoundation.org.
While Brain & Behavior Research Foundation does not provide medical advice, legal advice or advocacy, we can provide referrals to local community resources that may offer these types of services. If you or a loved one is in need of emergency services please call 911, or go to the nearest local emergency room. The National Suicide Prevention Hotline can be reached by calling 1-800-273-TALK (8255); this is a confidential service that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
