Dr. Lucki’s research focuses on identifying the neural substrates associated with anxiety and mood disorders and understanding the mechanisms involved in the behavioral effects of drugs used to treat these disorders. His work uses animal models and tests to develop new approaches for improving the effects of psychiatric medications. He also has conducted clinical pharmacologic research studies.
Dr. Lucki is Director of a National Cooperative Drug Discovery Group conducting integrative studies in mood and affective disorders at the University of Pennsylvania with investigators from Wyeth Neuroscience in Princeton, N.J. Dr. Lucki is committed to the education of residents, medical students, graduate and undergraduate students in the biological basis of psychiatric disorders at the University of Pennsylvania. He has mentored over 30 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
