Our son has paranoia schizophrenia; it is possible his great aunt from his maternal side may also had the illness; as stigma of this illness prevailed in 1900's it was never disclosed by family members.My wife's father also had a mental breakdown in his late 50's but recovered (temporary schizophrenia). If my wife wishes to do do a genetic trial -an assessment to determine whether or not she carries this buffer gene, can she do this with the research team led by Michael Owen, M.D., Ph.D., and Michael O’Donovan, M.D., Ph.D.,?
