So we are still working with animal models? Is there any progress toward understanding the biological basis of this thing called depression that everyone is trying to treat?

How long has it been since there has been a real breakthrough in the treatment of depression? One that provides lasting relief for a major portion of the affected population?

Wouldn't reliable bio-markers provide a better target to aim at?
