I was smoking two and a half packs a day when I became an outpatient at UCLA in 1986
I was regular at alcoholics anonymous meetings by 1988.
I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1990..
My treatment ended by 2000
and I gave up smoking for health reasons.
I had taken antipsychotics for ten of those years,.
